Poo Poo everywhere!

So, I don't have a picture, but just imagine a nice pile of poo on our new carpet! Yep, that's right, thanks to our little guy! We have been sitting him on the potty, but he has yet to use it. He just thinks it is fun. So this morning, he sat on the potty, and I didn't get a diaper on him right away. I turned around for a minute, and then heard him start crying. He was standing next to his pile, with poo on his leg, and was mad that it had gotten on him. After a hose down, we got those diapers on him right away. Guess we aren't ready to potty train just yet!

On not quite a disgusting note :) Brendan loves to buy cars, so we tell him he needs to save his money so he can. This worked for about 6 months before we could finally afford a Mack for him. Well, when we find change he puts it in his baseball piggy bank and says, "I'm going to buy a pink car, 5 cars, and a mission for me, like Little Einsteins, mom." I wonder if he'll be disappointed when he discovers what mission he is saving for! Such a sweet boy!

One more cute Brendan moment. My cousin got married this weekend and we headed to the reception in Hyde Park with my brothers. Everyone was dancing when we got there, so we all joined to crowd. Well, as any good dance does, there was a circle and a few of the boys did a little break dancing. Brendan thought he would join the group, and layed down and wiggled around on the floor for awhile. He's a good little dancer!

Final thought! Brendan goes shopping with me in the evening (well, used to when Derek actually came home) for our one on one time. He used to pretend we had a pet lion with us, and sometimes we would have to run from the lion so he didn't get us. Well, his latest: on his hands and knees crawling through the store. I'm a choo choo mommy! I'm Thomas the choo choo! Well, that's all from me for now! Hopefully we will have some decent weather this week and we can get outside. And, if ya'll are really lucky, I'll pull out the camera!

Ramblings

I really don't have any new cute pics to post, so I'll share what has been foremost in our minds most recently. My visiting teachers came by (we had the flu) and left a couple pages and a bag of M&Ms (which she said Derek would just have to eat-ya right?! I'll be done nursing in 7 mo. They'll store until then!!) Anyways, the two page story was about how we need to enjoy where we are at. We need to quit saying, "Well, when this happens then . . . " Fill in the blanks-I'm sure you can. Well, Derek and I have really been struggling with some things recently and it really hit home. We have found our selves saying, "Well, when we make more money, OR when we own a home." You get the picture. Although we are still going crazy in a tiny two bedroom apartment, we are trying to look at the positive. Our stake president recently spoke at a woman's meeting and said things along the same lines. He told us, we are where we are for a reason. Enjoy it. I think that if we don't, we will miss out on too many opportunities, especially when our children are young! Our neighbor has really had an impact on me in this area. Before Brynlee was born, I was out walking with Brendan. Her children (she has 5) were home from school and were out playing (no adult was home-her oldest is maybe 10). They started talking to me and trying to get adult attention, of which they get none at home. One little guy commented, "oh, I bet you can't wait until he starts school." What! He's two! I'm certainly can wait. I love having my little guy home! Poor things, that's all they hear from their parents. Anyways, when they are on Dr. Phil (yes, really!) I'll continue on my rantings of that situation. My family is my life. It's not easy. Some days I really wish I worked full time or could drop them off at day care so I could get a much needed break. But then, things happen that make me so grateful for them. Like today. Brendan was sitting there playing and turned to me and said, "Mommy, you are my best friend." It doesn't get any better than that!

Another first!

I suppose our trip to Twin involved a lot of firsts for our little boy. I have been trying to find chocolate chips that Brendan could have for months. I have looked at health food stores (prices range from $3.50 for 10 oz. to 7.99 a lb.) but they all are processed on shared equipment, thus making them unsafe for Brendan. Well, I ran into Fred Meyer with mom one evening (to get one thing I'm sure) and decided to check their brands. To my surprise, I found the FMV (which are only $1.20) are Brendan safe. This is a picture of him eating his very first chocolate chip cookie. I think he preferred the chips on their own. One evening, he came in and asked for a chip. I handed him a corn chip (which is what everyone was eating), he looked at me and said, " Not that kind, mom!" I told him that was the only kind we had, and he disappeared. 5 minutes later he came in carrying a bag of chocolate chips and proudly announced, "This kind mommy!" It certainly was a dollar well spent!

Happy Easter!

So, these are a little late. I have been down with the flu and sick babies. Hopefully we will stay healthy for awhile this time! We had such a wonderful trip to Twin Falls. We really missed Daddy, but had a great time with our Tubbs cousins! Here are our favorite pics!Sitting on the bench eating oreos & chips!Easter egg hunt! Brendan would just pick up the eggs and throw them! This picture may seem insignificant, but it's the first time Brendan was able to decorate "eggs" due to his allergies. We found these cute marshmallow eggs at the dollar store that were Brendan safe. He had a great time coloring them and enjoyed eating his first "eggs".

Welcome home Uncle Matt!

It's amazing how much life can change in two years. When Matt left, Brendan was as big as Brynlee is now. Amazing how life can change so quickly! We had fun getting to know Uncle Matt and playing with him, and taking him shopping. He got pretty handy at buckling Brendan into the car seat!
